15th G.Verdi Marathon

15th & ½ Ecomaratona delle Terre verdiane

Come & run in Giuseppe Verdi’s Homeland: the mostfamous melodies of the great composer known all over the world will go with youall along the race course!

As tradition, the 4th Sunday of February is dedicatedto the Verdi Marathon and the 2012 edition will take place on the 26th.The 42kms and 195 mts race will start in Salsomaggiore Terme and, crossing the ViaFrancigena in Fidenza, it will touch the Fidenza Outlet Village and themedieval castle of Fontanellato, it will enter the Meli Lupi fortress ofSoragna and after brushing the Verdi’s birth place in Roncole will finish inBusseto: the ending line will be at the feet of the great Maestro’s monument!

If you’re not ready to run a full marathon you canchoose among three other races:

- Verdi Fidenza Village: from the Fidenza OutletVillage to Busseto, a 30 km race ( 18,63 miles);

- Fontanellato’s ½ Marathon: a 21 Km-097mt race, thatstarts simultaneously with the Marathon andarrives at the back of the castle;

- Salso-Fidenza: a 9km-100 mt race that startssimultaneously with the Marathon and the ½ Marathon and arrives at the City Hallof Fidenza.

Buses will run from all finishing points to eachstarting points, before and after the races.

Your inscription at the race will include:

- tour of Verdi’s Homeland that will take place theday before the race;

- welcoming buffet that will be held in SalsomaggioreTerme, Palazzo Congressi, Saturday the 25th of February at 7 pm;

- a rich goody bag
